Celebrate Your Wins
Big, small, important or trivial - a win is a win is a win and you're allowed to be excited!
I think we can all agree that life is hard, right? Like, unless you’re a billionaire with the privilege of not seeing the roughness of the world if you don’t want to AND you have the funds/staff to solve any issue that may come your way, life is hard! Not all the time; It isn’t hard all day every day, but life can be really challenging. With that in mind, I am giving you permission (not that you need my permission but just in case you need someone to tell you) to celebrate your wins.
Endure those losses, celebrate those wins!
It’s about balance, my dudes. We have to level these things out lest we grow bitter and miserable. We don’t want that, do we?!
Last week, I hit a milestone that I never even considered because I just didn’t think it was possible: I hit 10,000 subscribers on my bookish YouTube channel. That is a lot of people and even as I watched the numbers climb in real time - I still didn’t believe it! I got a cake to celebrate, duh.
The cake reminded me of the time my friends and I got balloons and cupcakes (I think it was cupcakes) to celebrate 3,000 on Crybaby IG.
My friends and I have been celebrating each other’s wins for a long time! With balloons, trips, cupcakes, coffee or even just a “I’m proud of you and all the stuff you’re up to.” It feels good to have people in your corner cheering you on, but even if I didn’t, I will celebrate. One thing about me… I’m gonna celebrate my wins.
A lot of wins came my way as a result of you guys, here, in this space. Every single thing that came about is a result of strangers loving what I do and lifting me up while I do it. I can’t say thank you enough.
I hope that wherever you are, whatever you’re up to and whatever you may be dealing with, that joy never far away.
If you did something small like remembered your grocery list, didn’t meltdown over an inconvenience, drank all your coffee before it got room temp or if you did something big like got a promotion, bought a house, made a new friend… I hope you find a way to celebrate it, to be proud of it.
You deserve good things.
You deserve people who root for you.
You deserve to celebrate your wins.
